The Haven Trust is dedicated to supporting grassroots orphanages and charitable homes in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Kenya, with a focus on improving their long-term sustainability. Alongside providing direct support for day-to-day costs, our core service is helping these organisations become self-sufficient.

The primary mechanism is grant-making. Through grants, we assist them in building a strong foundation from establishing charitable status, developing fundraising strategies, and helping them gain recognition from local authorities. Our work includes connecting grassroots homes with larger, established charities and donors, empowering them with the resources and networks needed to thrive independently. Additionally, we help these homes build capacity by setting up sustainable fundraising channels, such as websites and subscription models, and by assisting them in applying for grants.

Through these services, The Haven Trust aims to create a network of sustainable, self-funded homes that can continue to provide care and support to vulnerable children and women in the long term.
